Next Global Prayer Meeting:

To be announced  | Faith that Works Office

Prayer is at the heart of our outreaches, especially our global outreach in the Horn of Africa. Through prayer we engage with God in His work and find that our own hearts are shaped in the process. We have seen prayers answered and learned the importance of persevering in prayer for long periods of time. God invites us to know Him through prayer and bring our requests to Him. Our current prayer ministry involves a weekly prayer chain and a Global Prayer Meeting that takes place every 6 weeks.

Prayer Chains

One way we seek to ground our outreach in prayer is through organizing 7-person prayer chains that commit to praying for a certain number of weeks (usually 5+ weeks). Each person on the prayer chain commits to pray for one hour, one day a week. At the end of their hour, they text or call the next person on the prayer chain to share thoughts, prayers, feelings, and prayer requests. We send out weekly email updates to prayer chain members that include specific prayer requests/focuses for the week along with related Scripture verses for reflection. If you're interested in learning more or joining a prayer chain, contact our prayer chain leader, Cathy Westbury, at

Global Prayer Team

Our work and lives are grounded in prayer, and we invite you to grow with us in your prayer life and see how God is working throughout the world by joining us every 6 weeks for our Global Prayer Meeting. We share stories about the work and experiences of our Somali leaders in the Horn of Africa and pray together for our Somali brothers and sisters in Christ and their communities. Next Meeting: Date to be announced - at the Faith that Works office: 4740 McPherson Ave., St. Louis, MO 63108 Contact Terri Stipanovich at for more information on getting involved in the Global Prayer Team!
